So, Steve Jobs announced the iPad 2 yesterday in a media event in San Francisco.
Apple iPad 2 is going to be available for sale on March 11 at 5PM in Apple Stores. Here are a few takeaways from the announcement and the news following it.
- iPad 2 is not available for pre-order as with other recent Apple product launches
- iPad 2 will be available in Apple stores on March 11 at 5PM.
- iPad 2 white will be available on day 1
- iPad 2 will also be sold at Best Buy, and possibly Walmart and Sams Club. We might also see it at AT&T, Verizon & Target store shelves.
- iOS 4.3 will also be available as a free update on March 11
- iPhone 3G is not supported with iOS 4.3 update
- The new Apple Digital AV adapter (for HDMI out) will support iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G and the original iPad.
- iPad 2 gets a new Dock Connector with an audio jack
- iTunes 10.2 was released to support iPad 2 and @MuscleNerd says it is jailbresk safe.
