Wall Street Journal reported that Verizon is offering an unlimited data plan for $30/month.
But, it appears that any aspiring Verizon iPhone owner should move fast on this as Verizon could move to a tiered pricing after a temporary period.
AT&T iPhone data vs Verizon iPhone data
AppleInsider has a chart comparing AT&T’s iPhone offering vs Verizon’s offering. AT&T just simplified their texting plans to 2 options 1000 messages for $10 or unlimited texts for $20. I wasn’t aware of this since I was on a 200 texts for $5 plan.

As you can see the data plans are pretty much similar and AT&T is inching ahead in the texting plans. But, Verizon one-ups AT&T by offering unlimited data for $30.
AT&T Offering Unlimited Data Now?
But, there are reports circulating that AT&T is countering this by opening up its unlimited data plan to those looking to switch to Verizon. If you are on the 2GB for $25 plan on AT&T, call 611 or their support and ask to be upgraded to unlimited. You might just get lucky!
AT&T Tethering vs Verizon Tethering
If you wanted to compare the tethering options, AT&T charges $45 for 2GB worth of data. Verizon is offering 2GB tethering option with personal mobile hotspot for $20 but charges extra $15 for Exchange Server use(?)!
Verizon iPhone 4 Eligibility Chech

Verizon iPhone Pre-orders Feb 3 3AM
MacRumors is reporting that they receieved an email saying that the carrier will start taking iPhone 4 pre-orders at 3AM EST on February 3.
Remember, the Feb 3rd pre-order is only for existing Verizon customers only. Once, the limited pre-orders are gone everyone has to wait until the launch date of Feb 10.
It also appears that Verizon is allowing some AT&T iPhone customers to trade in their phones for credit. The trade-in prices listed in MacRumors are
- iPhone (16 GB – first generation): $60
- iPhone 3G (16 GB): $105
- iPhone 3GS (32 GB): $160
- iPhone 4 (16 GB): $280
- iPhone 4 (32 GB): $360
If you don’t want to jailbreak/unlock and sell it yourself for a much higher sum on Craigslist or eBay, this is a decent option.
