Yesterday, we looked at how to backup AppStore iPhone App settings.
Now let’s say if you are going to do a factory reset on your iPhone. This is very common during firmware upgrades. And it is very painful to go about trying to find all the jailbreak apps you had found and installed over time.
So, how can you backup all your jailbreak iPhone apps and settings?
You can backup a list of all the jailbreak apps you have with Aptback (a jailbreak app) and use it to restore it later.
How to Backup Jailbreak Apps?
- Go to Cydia and install Aptbackup
- Launch AptBackup and hit Backup to create a list of all jailbreak apps installed
- Sync the iPhone with iTunes so the list gets synced to iTunes
- When you need to restore, just launch Aptbackup and hit restore
- It will reinstall all the Cydia apps you had previously installed
Unlike AppBackup, which restores all your AppStore Apps Settings, AptBackup does not restore your jailbreak app settings. It just makes it easy to reinstall all the apps you had installed earlier.
