Camera+ iPhone app is an elegant and awesome photography iphone app. We posted a full Camera+ review here.
Tap tap tap, the developer of Camera+ had submitted an update with a feature called VolumeSnap. This would let you take photographs in Camera+ by pressing the volume button.

Apple has rejected any app with this functionality in the past and it did so again with the latest Camera+ update.
Your application cannot be added to the App Store because it uses iPhone volume buttons in a non-standard way, potentially resulting in user confusion. Changing the behavior of iPhone external hardware buttons is a violation of the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement. Applications must adhere to the iPhone Human Interface Guidelines as outlined in the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement section 3.3.7
However, the developer had hid an easter egg inside the app already and you can easily enable this right now in Camera+. This little secret was revealed in a tweet from the developer.
- Simply go to Mobile Safari in your iPhone
- Go to camplus://enablevolumesnap
- Camera+ launches with this feature enabled
- Take pictures with volume button
- Go to camplus://disablevolumesnap to disable this
I tried it on my iPhone 4 and it works very well! If you have a jailbroken iPhone, you could also try SnapTap from Cydia that works similarly for the native camera app.
