Google recognizes this and the searches for their own mobile apps in the Android marketplace.

So, now when you search for a mobile app from your iPhone or Android device, Google shows direct links for app downloads. You can also get a quick look at the app’s basic details such as price, rating and the publisher.

At this point though the search may be limited to ‘well-rated’ apps. For eg. a well known SoundHound iPhone app came up in the search but I tried to find the AT&T app with no luck.

Also, the word ‘download’ and then the app name seems to be the key. I use Google iPhone app for everything and now I might skip going to the App Store for search for an app if Google can do that too.

Facebook has had another surprise up their sleeve and is just out.

Facebook Messenger iPhone Pp has hit the App Store.

With this app you can message your Facebook friends as well as your iPhone contacts with this app.

Check it out. In fact, I am hearing that this app has hidden video chat capabilities that could be enabled in a future update.

‘Absolut’ Vodka makers have released this great Free iPhone app with plenty of Drink recipes. Of course all the Vodka based recipes have Absolut Vodka as the ingradient but has a pretty good selection of a variety of drinks.

The interesting part of Drinkspiration lifestyle app is that it brings together 3G, GPS, Twitter, Facebook, etc to bring you a real time drink recommendation based on taste, trends and data.

Here is a screenshot tour of the App so you can see for yourself if you’d like to have this in your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Since it has a reference to Alcohol, it is rated as 17+ – a OS 3.0 feature and so you’d have to enter your age in this screen.

The Home screen has a few options to choose from in an attractive swipe-friendly interfac. You can get recommendations based on your location.

You can see ‘Live’ the drinks that are popular in your area and around the world or check out the top drink list of people.

Once you have chosen a drink by tapping on ‘I’ll Have One’, you can choose to update your drink choice in Facebook or Twitter!

You can also search drinks by browsing all, by drink type, occasion or taste. Also there is a short index of bar tools that you may need that are referenced in the drink recipes.

Drinkspiration differs from other drink apps by using your location to provide recommendations and also giving you the ability to update your Facebook or Twitter with your drink choice.

Goal Battle is not your typical soccer app. You aren’t playing full games, and you don’t have to grind through an entire FIFA World Cup to get your sports kick.   Instead, it’s a one-on-one face-off concept, where the goal is to, well, make goals.  It’s a clever take on soccer, because scoring goals is the best part!  Plus, this makes the game perfect to pick up and play, when you’ve got just a few minutes to spare.

It’s also a quick starter—just drag and tap to begin.  After that, of course, you’ll have to learn some finesse to outscore your opponent.  But since the game revolves around goal scoring, you’ll get plenty of practice.

The game itself is very straightforward.  Two things give it endless playability: One, the real-life opponent aspect.  Goal Battle doesn’t just put your name on a leaderboard—you play directly against your opponent.  And not only do you play against designated opponents, you get to watch their game progress while you battle.  If you’ve got a competitive streak, get ready for Goal Battle to kick it into high gear.

The other thing that sets Goal Battle apart is the customization.  Your character becomes your avatar, as you choose from custom jerseys and equipment—some of which gives you a special edge on the playing field. And Goal Battle shows off your player and your skills with bright, smooth 3D graphics that make you feel like you’re right there on the field of battle.

With audio books containing dozens of chapters, it is sometimes hard to find the spot you left off.

I found an app called Markr that lets you quickly bookmark the audio book/podcast or any audio you are listening to.

This is how simple it is

• Start listening to your audio on iPod
• Launch Markr when you want to bookmark a spot
• Create a bookmark
• When you want to play from where you left off, simply launch Markr and start playing the bookmark.

Even though there were plenty of paid apps for this functionality, I found the free app Markr work well for my needs. The only hiccup was that if your book was broken into smaller tracks, it stops with the track you bookmarked but useful nonetheless.

If you need bookmarks for audio you listen to for any reason, give Markr a try.

Today, I am going to let out my secret weapon. Well, it’s not such a secret. In fact, there are more than 1 such app but this is what I have stuck to recent days.

PandoraBox is an iPhone app that tracks iPhone apps on sale.

With more than 100,000 apps in the App Store and everyday dozens of these apps either go on sale by 20, 30, 70, 80 percent on sale or even sometimes goes FREE for a limited time.

A smart iPhoner would make use of such sales and grab the iPhone apps on a nice deal.

An app like Pandora Box makes that such an easy task. You can see the apps that are on sale that are updated several times a day. You can see the description of apps that are on sale or free.

You can also create your own list of favorite apps and track apps you want to find on sale.

There are a few sneaky developers who keep throwing their app on sale and removing it flooding these lists. PandoraBox has an answer to that. You can block certyain authors you don’t care about seeing in the list.

With the Thanksgiving holidays coming up in the US, there is going to be a ton of sales with some nice apps.
