How to Change Default Browser in iPhone / iPad? [jailbreak]

One of the things Apple stills hasn’t announced in iOS 5 is the ability to set a default browser other than Mobil Safari in iPhone or iPad.

It is ironic since Apple has approved so many amazing browsers like Life browser, 360 browser, etc that have much more advanced functionality than Mobile Safari. Yes, Mobile Safari in iOS 5 has tabbed browsing but I have been using tabbed browsing on my iPhone forever with browser apps.

Plus, apps like 360 browser has Firefox Sync and iCab Mobile has Dropbox integration.

However, when launching a link from Mail, or any other app the default was to launch Safari instead of the one I want.

BrowserChanger Cydia tweak

I just found a wonderful Cydia tweak called BrowserChanger that lets me change the default browser to anything other than Safari. Once I installed this tweak from Cydia, I just need to go into Settings –> BrowserChanger and set your default browser.

I can also set the default browser for links from Youtube and Maps apps.
