DoodleBoy – The Violence Park iPhone Game Review

The Violence Park is a game that fulfills all your blood lust desires in a cute cartoon kind of way. The point of the game is pretty straightforward: to kill anything and everything that moves. You will be unleashing your rage on zombies, hell-bound creatures and my ultimate favorite, those creepy clowns.

You will begin the game by personalizing your character. You can doodle a face, choose a default face or use a face from the image gallery. I thought this feature was very interesting because it actually made me feel like I was the super hero in the game.

When you start you will only have a knife and gun at your disposal. As you let loose your anger on the enemies in the game you will be rewarded with money that can be used to hire 3 different killers and upgrade weapons. In addition, as you fight along you will come across more deadly weapons such as your standard shotgun and machine gun but nothing beats my favorite: the fatal scythe. With over 24 different weapons, Doodleboy – The Violence Park provides you with more than enough options to kill to your heart’s desire.

What would a Superhero be without special powers? Mana will be available to increase your speed, boost your attack power and other goodies. You can also call in a nuclear bomb to blow away everything on the screen.

Graphically, this game features cartoon graphics in a 2D side-scroller. The blood and mayhem that goes on becomes fantastic in a sadistic kind of way. Every cruel and malicious way of dying is available via the multitude of weapons but it all seems like innocent fun because of the doodle animation.

Overall this game provides enough mindless fun for gamers who have a chip on their shoulder. You will be killing a lot and it can help relieve some stress when you are seriously pissed off but the game did become repetitive at times. I don’t really like the fact that there were unlimited levels because I like to beat games. Also I thought the developer could of made different modes of game play. However, I thought this game was well developed, and it didn’t crash at all especially with all that action happening on the screen.

It provided a lot of fun and for only $.99 I thought this game was not bad at all.

Editor’s note: There is also a free lite version you can try out.
