If you are a Dropbox user and love writing on your iPhone, I have a perfect companion iPhone app for you.
Elements in its core is a plain text editor iPhone app that can be used for writing notes. The app’s kep feature is it’s integration with the popular and reliable file sync service – Dropbox. You can create a free Dropbox account and get 2GB space to start with.
The Dropbox iPhone app is awesome and lets me access all my files right from my iPhone. But, this app does not come with any text editing capability. That’s where Elements comes in handy.
Elements has been designed with elegance and simplicity in mind. Any text you create on Elements automatically gets synced to a folder in Dropbox.
On launching the app, you will see a list of text files you have in the app or just a Welcome note if this is your first time. There is also a search box if you have a bunch of files. Just tap the + sign to start writing.
The app has Retina display support and has autosaving so you never lose text you type. Plus, it has the useful TextExpander touch support. It can also work while you offline and sync up to Dropbox when connection is restored.
Each note can show you word count, line count and character count. You can also email any note from the app as an attachment.
The Settings page has enough custom options to make your text-writing interface look the way you want it to.
Elements is a Universal app and works on iPhone, iPod Touch and Apple iPad. The app is beautifully crafted and costs $4.99 which includes free customer support by email.
If you create a lot of text files on your iPhone or iOS devices and want them to be synced across your devices and computers via Dropbox, Elements is just the app for you.
