Epic Games was featured in the recent Apple Media event where they announced the new iPod Touch, iPod Nano & Shuffle.
Epic Games is the creator of the Unreal3 game engine that is so popular in game titles for XBox and Sony Playstation 3. They have been working on an iOS port for a while. And they showed off their iOS development with the ‘Project Sword’ demo and it looked absolutely fantastic.
Now you can also get a taste of the Unreal3 game engine with the Epic Citadel app available for free in the App Store.
Because of the high processing power needed for this engine, the app works only on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, Apple iPad and 3rd & 4th gen iPod Touch.
The app itself is not a game but just an environment where you can walk around and enjoy the scenery and beautiful life like settings.
I grabbed a few screenshots but do yourself a favor and check out this game for yourself. It blowed my mind when I saw this on my iPhone 4 Retina display!
I can’t wait to see games built with the Unreal3 engine for iOS!
