I am a huge fan of the Evernote iPhone app. I use it everyday and one of the apps in my iPhone 4 homescreen.
Evernote is a note taking service that is on steroids compared to most online notes options. And their iPhone app has been around since the inception of iTunes App Store.
Evernote 4.0 has been rebuilt from the ground up. It is almost like using a brand new app and I have to admit that it is going to take a little bit of adjustment to start using it effectively again.
But, in my first impressions aren’t so gloomy. Evernote 4.0 has gotten a much needed refresh and feels more natural as an iOS app. Also, the new views like the month organized thumbnails and easy to lookup notebooks and tags are welcome features.
Some of the main changes you will see in Evernote 4.0 are
- New Home screen and Snippet view
- New note screen with options to add audio, picture and text notes together
- Remove attachments in notes
- Select multiple camera toll images at once
- Browse notes by notebooks and tags
Evernote for iPad is also poised to get similar UI changes while enjoying the backend updates with the current update.
Evernote 4.0 for iPhone is an amazing update and if you haven’t tried Evernote yet, this would be the time to do so.
