If you drive a car, this is a question you probably have every so often – where is the cheapest gas near me?
Gasbag iPhone app’s primary reason for existence is to answer this very question for you.
Gasbag can use your location and show you the nearby gas stations and the price of a gallon of gas in a map view. It also has the symbols for different gas stations so you can easily how much gas costs at Speedway, Mobil, BP, etc.
The data for this is gathered by crowd sourcing so if you see a gas station price not accurate or missing, you can tap and enter the price yourself helping people in your neighborhood.
You can set your app for any type of gas – Regular, Mid-grade, Premium, or Diesel.
The app also features mileage tracking by looking at fuel efficiency, average price you pay and efficiency of your car. You can also email yourself this data should you want to track this elsewhere.
GasBag is available as an iAds supported FREE version. It is also available as a Pro version for $1.99. The interface for both version ares very simple and if you want eye candy you have to look elsewhere. It is very utilitarian in its look and function.
The Pro version adds ability to track multiple vehicles and no advertising. I just used the free version for the review and think it will satisfy the regular user.
I have used GasBag for a long time and haven’t even tried to find an alternative as it works quite well.
If you consistently get the gas at the lowest price in your area, you would end up saving considerably in a year.
