Ever since Google introduced a feature called Priority Inbox on the web main interface, I have been addicted to it. This feature intelligently separates ‘important’ mails and mails that hardly grab your attention.
They work this out in the background by looking at trends of email contacts you regularly open and reply, your own signals marking certain mails important or unimportant.
Thanks to this feature, I am always looking at just the emails that matter and just clear out the rest at the end of the day.’
This feature however was only available on the web and Gmail’s mobile interface did not support it. Until now.
The Gmail web app now has support for Priority Inbox for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
You can now see important mail markers in the web interface with the distinct yellow icons. I am so addicted to this feature that I might have to abandon the native Mail.app in iPhone for a while.
