How to Quickly Switch Between Multiple iTunes Accounts? [Mac]

If you have a Mac and you often switch between 2 iTunes accounts (or more), I just came across a neat AppleScript that makes it super easy for you without typing anything.

You might have separate iTunes accounts for yourself and your kids or just one for App Store and another for iTunes movies. Some might even have a US based iTunes account and one elsewhere.

Whatever the reason maybe, switching between the 2 (or more) would require signing out and typing in your credentials.

With TinyLebowski’s AppleScript, you can setup fast iTunes account switching that takes less than 2 seconds to switch. If you are switching to an International store, you’d have an extra ok button to click.

One thing to note is that you’d have to store your username and password in plain text inside the script. You can safeguard this file in your local disk by using an encryptions tool like TrueCrypt. (See how you can even use Dropbox with TrueCrypt).

You can also save the script as an application bundle to protect it from the uninitiated who may not look through ‘show package contents’ to see the script contents.
