I was browsing the Appstore for new photography apps and I saw InfiniFX. At first I thought that it’s another FX app like many that flood the Appstore lately, provide nothing new and save below 1MP…
But I was wrong! InfiniFX is a great app that has many filters, offers the ability to apply multiple and save them as a new filter and the can also apply them to photos and video!
When you first open the app, you’ll see thre button on the bottom toolbar. The right button provides some help,tips on how to use the app and info about the developer and his other apps. The middle button adds effects but it’s grayed out because there’s no photo/video loaded. The left button opens the menu below and let’s us pick the photo/video we want to process.
*Because of some iOS limitations, when you try to load a video, the app will ask for access to location services. That is a trick, so the app can load the original video without recompression.
After you load the photo/video you want, just tap the “+FX” button and a menu with all the filters pops up.
The app has 21 effects that can be applied multiple times and combined with others. Also if you create a filter with multiple effects and you want to use it again,you can save it as a composite filter. If you have loaded a video, a small icon will be next to some effects. That means that the effects needs some time to process to the video.
All the effects have settings that include opacity,saturation,strength,effect radius and many more.
When you are finished, you tap the left button which now has more options. “Add composite filter” adds a previously save composite filter, “Save result” saves the processed photo/video to the camera roll and the “Save composite filter” saves the applied effects as a composite filter.
Overall,I think it is a very good app. I haven’t experienced any crashes and was fast,even after I had applied multiple effects. I like that it can process both photos and video and can replace 3-4 apps I have installed. Also,I forgot to mention that the app saves at full resolution..
