With the arrival of the new firmware iOS 4.1, Apple introduced a new feature called HDR in the camera app for iPhone 4.
You can read about HDR photography here.
If you were a iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS owner, iOS 4.1 did not give you this feature.
Thanks to the jailbreak community, if you iPhone 3GS or iPhone 3G is jailbroken, then you are in luck.
How to enable HDR in iPhone 3GS or 3G?
- Go to Cydia
- Search and install ‘HDR Camera Enabler’ [you need to be on iOS 4.1]
- Open up Winterboard and enable ‘HDR-Capture’
- Respring
If you unimpressed with the iPhone HDR feature or don’t want to jailbreak your iPhone 3GS or 3G, you can still do HDR photography from your iPhone with a couple of apps like ProHDR iPhone app and TrueHDR iPhone app.
