You might have heard of the iPhone OS 3.0′s SMS security vulnerability that was disclosed a few days earlier in a BlackHat conference in Las Vegas.
Basically, this SMS vulnerability exploits a security hole in the cellular carrier letting a hacker send a bunch of inteliigible codes to your iPhone by SMS and take complete control of an iPhone.
Even though the hackers had warned Apple of this exploit, Apple didn’t do anything about it until they were put in the spotlight but making the exploit public in the conference.
Apple has released iPhone firmware 3.0.1 with the SMS vulnerability bug fix.

If you haven’t updated yet, now is a good time to update to 3.0.1.
As usual, if you have a jailbroke iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G or 2G, there is good news. Look out for a post on how to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.0.1 shortly from us.
