OS 4.0 Finally Brings Tethering to iPhone in US

AT&T has been beaten up badly when they promised tethering for iPhone last fall and never delivered.

But, MacRumors has just uncovered a new configuration page in the latest beta 4 of iPhone OS 4.0.

Tethering feature isn’t enabled yet and you’d have to call AT&T to enable it.

There hasn’t been an official announcement yet from Apple or AT&T yet. So, take this with a grain of salt but the fact that the OS 4.0 has this screen is a much stronger indication of this coming soon than ever before.

Also, with OS 4.0 only functioning fully on iPhone3GS and newer devices, tethering could possibly be only on 3G network and not on 2G devices.
