If you have been in the market for a legally unlocked (never-locked) iPhone 3GS, you are in luck. But, it’s not from Apple!
Buy.com is selling the black iPhone 3GS 32GB GSM Cell phone for $999.99. Even though this is through the popular US online seller Buy.com, iPhone 3GS is being sold by DB Electronics, a Lakewood, NJ based seller.
I don’t see Apple selling iPhone 3GS here in the US and if I’d have to venture a guess the iPhones are probably being bought in markets where they are sold unlocked and brought them here.
Plus, the price tag of $999.99 isn’t something easily digestible either and if you consider the risk of Apple denying service on it, I am not sure if it is such an attractive deal.
Also, there is a listing from Popular electronics that list iPhone 3GS 16GB for $899.99 with Full Apple Warranty!
But, for someone who wants to get a iPhone 3GS without dealing with AT&T it might be worth a shot.
