Should I use my seven iron or hit a long nine?
With myCaddie Pro you won’t have to second guess your yardage. Not only does this free app allow you to see yardages to the pin with satellite course maps, but you can drop a pin and get the yardages to bunkers, water hazards, or a potential layup area.
That’s not all this app does. It also doubles as a scorecard, and keeps track of statistics. Like how many greens you hit in regulation, how many putts per hole, and more.
Just sign up for a free account and download your course maps before heading out. Already at the course? You can also download over the air with your data plan. If you don’t find your course map, do not fret. Mapping your course on the www.imakepars.com website is simple and only takes 10-15 minutes, there is even a video walkthrough to help you learn the process.
The only problem I have seen with this app is battery drainage. Although, it is to be expected when you are operating your GPS constantly, you can easily shut down the app between shots, and it only takes a few seconds to relocate you the next time you open the app. This app currently works with iPhone 3, 3GS, and 4.
Although there has been some report of bugs on the iOS4 platform, the developer reports on their site that a fix has been submitted to the app store.
