I’m sure all of us in grade school spent sometime with jigsaw puzzles. It was always a good way to kill time and actually some of my friend’s parents used to play puzzle board games as a family “bonding” event. However, with the rise of the iPhone and iPad this favorite past time will slowly fade away but has already started to evolve into something new: the digital form. Puzzle Me!!! by SID On is part of this evolution by offering children, casual gamers and board game fans alike, a virtual jigsaw puzzle for their iPhone or iPads.
Puzzle Me!!! sports 50 colorful puzzles each with four different difficulty settings. The difficulty settings is based on the size of the pieces and the amount that are available. When you start you will have five different sets: water, cars, aliens, girls and underwater groups each with 10 different puzzles. Upon finishing each set you will see the time in which it took you to finish the puzzle as well as your record time. After finishing all the puzzles you may purchase additional sets for $.99 but I really hate that developers do this. Either you charge for the app and make it free, or make it free and charge for it. Don’t make me pay twice!
I must warn you though, no matter the difficulty setting the puzzles are extremely easy. Even the hard setting was finished in a matter of minutes which makes me think that this is more suited towards children than adults (it’s marketed toward adults). If that wasn’t enough, being remotely close to the right match would result in the pieces snapping together. I wish they had some kind of option that would turn this feature off because it was one of the main reasons that made this game so simple a blind man could play it.
Overall the graphics are vivid and colorful. The cartoon look and cute characters are very suitable forward children but too childish for adults.
You can buy this app for $1.99 but even at that price I think it’s too expensive. In order to not make gamers angry I suggest making it free and just charging for the sets. That will let the gamer decide if they think this app is worth their money. But alas, that isn’t the case so I say save your money.
Editors note: Apologies for the initial wrong title.
