Just the other day I had my one year cigarette free anniversary! I have been using Quit it – Stop Smoking to track my progress. This app doesn’t offer you much help in quitting, but what it does do is pretty neat.
You can enter the date that you quit smoking in the settings, along with how many cigarettes a day, and how much your cigarettes cost, and Quit it will keep track of: how many days you have been smoke free, how much money you have saved, how many cigarettes you would have had if you did not quit, and how much tar you have not put into your lungs.
It’s been fun to check up on this app after quitting smoking. Whenever someone asked how long it had been since I quit, I would open up the app and tell them, to the day, how long it had been. This app also lists the benefits you should see by quitting, and the messages change with the amount of time you have been smoke free.
You can also connect Quit it to Facebook and let all your friends know how long it’s been since you quit, You can also copy your information to the clipboard or insert it into an email.
The only thing I can think of that would make this app more appealing, is if you were able to track progress from quitting smokeless tobacco instead of, or along with, cigarettes. This app is 99 cents in the Apple app store. I think it’s pretty affordable, as it tells me that I have saved close to $2,000.00 in my year of being smoke free!
