One of the must have iPhone apps for a shopper is a barcode scanner iPhone app.
Of all the scanners available in the App Store, there is one app that has stood out for a long time.
RedLaser has topped the paid apps chart for such a long time and the reason is because it is rock solid at what it does.
RedLaser can scan UPC, EAN, UPC-E, and EAN-8 barcodes. Once scanned it automatically searches the prices in Google Product Search as well as in TheFind (UK). It also shows local results.
For a book I scanned in, RedLaser showed the local stores that carried it as well as the libraries this book is in. You can email the list of results or even send the barcodes as attachments as well.
For items or codes that wont scan with the excellent camera scanner, you can also type in the bar code.
RedLaser is a must have shopping tool for everyone. And guess what RedLaser has been available for free since late June and it used to be $1.99 and I would have still recommended it.
