One thing I do everyday is take photographs. When I am out and about I take pictures with my iPhone 4. When we are traveling we take pictures with our Canon Rebel T1i. Shriya takes pictures of our week old son with her IPhone 3GS as well as iPad 2.
We try to import everything into iPhoto to store it in one place. However, with amazing photo editing apps being created for iPhone and iPad I am finding myself more and more editing pictures on iOS devices. But, our pictures are so fragmented across devices there is no real workflow for us yet.
Photo Sync universal app has solved that issue in a simple and efficient manner.
How to Sync Photos?
All i have to do is launch the Photo Sync app and it will show me the camera roll and any other photo album I have.
On the thumbnail view I just need to tap and select as many photos I want and tap the Red button on the right top side of the screen.
Once I tap that, I get an option to sync new photos, sync selected photos, sync all photos, or mark all as synced.
I usually use the sync selected photos option. The next screen tries to detect other Photo Sync install in your wireless network. If you don’t have it open just launch Photo Sync on your other iOS device or the free utility you install on Mac or PC.
That’s it. You will see the progress for the synced photos right on the screen.
The app supports iOS 4 multitasking so you can do other tasks if you are syncing a large number of photos. There is no limit on the number of photos you can sync between devices. Also, it is great to be able to share photos between iOS devices like iPhone and iPad without the need for a computer.
Sharing Options
The app also has a Wi-Fi web sharing option. Once you turn this on in the app, you can access the shared photos from any computer browser in the same Wi-Fi network.
You can also share photos directly to Flickr. The latest app update has added support for upload to Dropbox (get a free 2GB account) as well as FTP server of your choice.
If you are on a Mac, the utility let’s you open the synced photos directly in Finder or iPhoto or even Aperture.
Quicklook Mode
If you would like to view images and videos before syncing, you can do so in Quicklook mode by tapping the eye icon. This mode even let’s you stream videos with AirPlay.
if you are looking for an easy solution to share your photos across your computers as well as your iOS devices, it cannot get easier than Photo Sync solution.
Photo Sync universal iOS app costs just $1.99 and the utility for PC and Mac are free to download.
