Tethering iPhone 4 With PdaNet is Safer [jailbreak]

One of the popular options for tethering iPhone 4 is the jailbreak app called MyWi that costs $20.

However, we have been widely seeing reports of AT&T going after unauthorized iPhone internet tethering users especially those who used MyWi. AT&T has been sending out text messages warning that if they continue to use iPhone tethering they will be automatically added to the AT&T iPhone data tethering plan which is pretty expensive.

Depending on how far you are from your iPhone hotspot, you even adjust the signal strength so you are not broadcasting to a large area.

Now, comes the best part of PdaNet iPhone tethering app. PdaNet has a ‘Hide Usage’ option that basically hides the way your data traffic looks to AT&T. It is believed that AT&T can see that an iPhone user is using with a signature in the traffic data going through them.

However, PdaNet’s ‘Hide Usage’ option masks this and makes it look like all the traffic even the tethered traffic comes from your iPhone.
