TomTom GPS for iPhone was announced at WWDC back in June promising to be the first GPS with turn by turn navigation for iPhone! It was sorely beaten by competitors like AT& Navigator & Navigon AG.
Plus, there were hardly any updates about its availability or pricing so far.
TomTom GPS US & Canade for iPhone has finally made its appearance in the App Store today. It is priced at $99.99.
TomTom for iPhone Features

- Use iPhone’s multi-tiuch to pinch and zoom
- Tap and go – tap your way from A to B using the best routes
- Portrait and landscape mode
- Access to your iPhone address book
- Find places to eat or shop, call to reserve a table
There is no detail yet about the car kit for iPhone that’s supposed to include a charging dock. I am watching this TomTom page for updates.
With Navigon priced at $69.99 (valid until Aug 31), I am looking to see the difference between the two apps. I certainly would not pay $9.99 monthly to AT&T but I can see purchasing one of these GPS apps soon. I am waiting to see how much the TomTom car kit is going to cost – would have been nice if it was included in the $99.99. (or is it?)
