Want to watch ESPN channels live on your iPhone for free?

ESPN has just released a free iPhone app that gives you live streaming access to the top events on ESPN channels.

However, access to ESPN live streaming via iPhone is limited at the moment to subscribers of teh following providers.

• Bright House Networks, Time Warner Cable & Verizon FiOS TV – ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 and ESPNU are available to fans who receive ESPN as part of their TV package
• Verizon High Speed Internet – If you do NOT receive TV service from an above provider, but receive high-speed internet from Verizon, you will have access to ESPN3

I am a little bummed that AT&T UVerse or DISH network isn’t in the list yet.

If you are lucky enough to get access, here are the programs you’d get to watch live on your iPhone.

Live streaming access to the top events from the ESPN family of networks, including:

• NBA Regular Season and Playoffs
• Major League Baseball
• The Masters, US Open and The Open Championships
• College Football and Basketball
• Barclay’s Premier League, Spanish Primera Division and Euro 2012 Soccer
• All 4 Grand Slam tennis events
  …and thousands more live events airing on the ESPN networks

I hope ESPN can work out an agreement with more providers and also bring this to the Apple iPad. You may have heard about the recent squabble between Time Warner & CableVision when they made live tv available on the iPad.
